About the CSIA

The CSIA is a nonprofit organization known nationwide for training and educating chimney sweeps. It’s run by a group of volunteers – all industry experts – and any sweep that wants to ensure they’re serving their customers to the best of their ability will be sure to obtain this qualification.

And, trust us… this isn’t one of those organizations where you pay a quick fee and get to claim you’re “certified.” Earning a CSIA certification takes hours of studying required materials after which an exam must be passed. And it doesn’t stop there! Every 3 years, the certification must be renewed or it will be lost.

Finally, sweeps must sign a Code of Ethics that requires them to represent the CSIA well by remaining honest and always keeping the customer’s best interests in mind. All in all, a sweep that’s put in the time and training to achieve this honor is one that is sure to treat you fairly and professionally.
